Cylindrical Roller Thrust Bearings
Cylindrical roller thrust bearings carry axial loads in one direction and require separate radial support. Send your bearing number or drawing to TEDIN to check dimensions, component configuration and replacement requirements.

Confirm the full designation and dimensions.
Washers & Roller Assembly
A single-direction cylindrical roller thrust bearing consists of a shaft washer, a housing washer, and a roller and cage assembly. The rollers carry axial load between the washers' flat raceways.

Shaft Washer
Provides the raceway on the shaft side.

Housing Washer
Provides the opposing raceway on the housing side.

Roller & Cage Assembly
Keeps the cylindrical rollers spaced and guided between the washers.
Mounting note: The components can be mounted separately. The bearing does not accommodate misalignment; ensure the support faces are flat and perpendicular to the shaft axis.

Selection & Mounting Considerations
Check the operating conditions and mounting dimensions against the catalogue data for the selected model.
Load & Direction
Check the axial load and its direction. If the load reverses, confirm the required bearing arrangement. Do not apply radial load to the bearing.
Model & Dimensions
Check the complete bearing designation, catalogue dimensions, and available mounting space.
Mounting Support
Check that the washers have flat, perpendicular support faces and are supported as required by the mounting arrangement.
Lubrication & Speed
Check the lubrication method and operating speed against the data for the selected model.
Typical Applications
These examples show where axial loads may occur. Bearing selection and arrangement depend on the actual loads, mounting conditions, and catalogue data.

Screw Extruders
Material pressure can generate axial force on the screw. The thrust bearing arrangement depends on the machine design.

Gearbox Shafts
Some gear arrangements generate axial force along the shaft. Radial loads require support from other bearings.

Vertical Shafts
A thrust bearing may support axial loads from the shaft and connected components. The arrangement must also provide radial guidance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a cylindrical roller thrust bearing carry radial load?
No. Use a separate bearing to support radial load and guide the shaft.
Can it carry axial load in both directions?
Do not assume so, even for a double-row series. Check the specified load direction; reversing loads may require an opposing bearing arrangement.
Can it accommodate shaft misalignment?
No. The shaft and housing support faces must be flat and perpendicular to the shaft axis.
Can I request a bearing to my drawing?
Please send your detailed drawing and tolerance requirements for review. Include the required quantity.
